About the Artist

Twenty years ago, I went to Tuscany to paint with fellow artists. After I returned home, I decided that I wanted to continue painting because I like experiencing the physical, emotional, and intellectual energy it takes to create art.

I consciously layer colors, shapes, lines, and materials. My work is representational, abstracted, and in-between. Dreams, memories, and contemporary issues find their way into my work and help me create images that make a connection with the viewer.

I follow what my intuition suggests, refine ideas, and embrace the possibilities they offer. When I puzzle out problems, I am willing to make a change in direction that moves my work onward. It’s a balancing act that provides surprising and satisfying results.

I live in Washington, DC and I have a studio in Silver Spring, MD.
